The emotional, sexual, and psychological stereotyping of females begins when the doctor says, “It’s a girl.” ~Shirley Chisholm
The Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention Center at the University of Missouri has begun a new outreach group in an attempt to target violence occurring in the ‘Greek Community’.
Per their description: ”Greek Advocates are a group of students committed to decreasing violence in the Greek community. Through tailored education, outreach and prevention efforts, Greek Advocates work to empower the Greek community to unite against relationship and sexual violence. These students serve a resource for their Greek chapter and the Greek community.”
Anyone who has spent any amount of time on a college campus can certainly understand and appreciate the need for a group like this. Targeting violence prevention in the Greek Community? Two thumbs up Mizzou RSVP Center!!

”We apologize that our selfish requests to marry those we love has cheapened and degraded traditional marriage so much that we caused you to stray from your own holy union for something more cheap and tawdry….”
When someone you know has a miscarriage, it can be hard to know what to say. We have some tips for responding sensitively in this difficult situation.
As soon as we begin to understand the connection between racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. We can begin to work towards the resolution of these issues.
The Pixel Project is working on a project to collect personal stories of violence
Why Contribute Your Story:
We believe that sharing personal stories is one of the fundamental ways in which we can break the wall of silence around any and all types of gender-based violence.
Whether you are a survivor, an activist or a supporter of our work and the Violence Against Women cause, we would like to hear from you.
